Can I trade in my iPhone4 for an iPhone 4S after recently purchasing an iPhone 4?

I recently upgraded by basic phone to an iPhone 4 about a week before the iPhone 4S came out without knowing the release date or anything about a new iPhone (Apple is good at hiding these types of things). I read my receipt from Verizon and it says something that I can trade in within 14 days. Will it work for this for free? How much would it cost? Thanks.
